ASSIGNMENT BRIEF - Drawing Mediums
You are required to submit an attractively presented A3 folio of drawings. This last drawing assessment should be treated as a design project as well as a drawing project.
Your work will be marked using the criteria set out in the standard Billy Blue marking sheet, so study it.
Each pair of drawings in section 2 to 5 below should be in strongly contrasting styles, as discussed in class. The subjects used inside and outside of class can be the same from week to week, or can vary.
1. Cover Sheet.
Attractively designed, and showing names of subject, student and teacher.
2. Pencil drawings
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn in class (2 hours approx.).
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn outside class (3 hours approx.).
3. Pen drawings
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn in class (2 hours approx.).
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn outside class (3 hours approx.).
4. Chalk drawings (light and dark chalk, on toned paper)
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn in class (2 hours approx.).
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn outside class (3 hours approx.).
5. Pastel drawings (can be mixed with markers or paint)
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn in class (2 hours approx.).
Two (2) drawings of a single subject, drawn outside class (3 hours approx.).
6. Experimental Drawing
Suite of experimental drawings as indicated in class. Select four drawings for display, and include the rest in a plastic sleeve (5 hours approx.).
